Michael Vick Agrees to $100 Million Endorsement Deal With Kleenex Brand

Philadelphia, PA – With Michael Vick’s recent release from a federal prison in Leavenworth, many advertising executives have been waiting with bated breath to see if any companies out there that would be willing to give the once popular football star a second chance at endorsing products.
That wait ended abruptly today when Vick, on the heels of a remorseful, post-prison interview with 60 Minutes, signed a 23 month, $100 million endorsement with Kleenex® Brand Tissue.
The three time Pro-Bowler’s contract states simply that he must have a box of Kleenex® Tissues next to him during every remorseful interview he gives, regardless of whether or not he actually cries. Mark Buthman, who is CEO and Chairman of Kleenex’s parent company, Kimberly-Clark, stated that he caught the episode of 60 Minutes which interviewed Vick, and “knew in one heart felt moment that Vick should be the new face of the company.”
Buthman went on to add, “We know Michael Vick frequently used our products in prison. Between wiping away his tears and cleaning himself up on those lonely nights, he was going through a couple boxes a week. Because of this, we’re confident he will inspire others to purchase Kleenex® and put them to the same effective uses that he has, focusing first and foremost on wiping away those unwanted tears of remorse to get a second chance. Kleenex®: It Feels Good to Feel™”
Michael Vick played college football for Virginia Tech and was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the first round of the 2001 NFL draft. In April 2007, he was indicted in a dogfighting ring he operated for a period of five years. He plead guilty to charges and was sentenced to 23 months in Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary, where he was introduced to Kleenex® Brand Tissues by his cell mate. He was released to home confinement on May 20, 2009 and has since signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Following his arrest and suspension from the NFL, Vick saw all of his endorsements with companies like Nike, EA Sports and Coca-Cola be yanked out from under him. However, since his release and signing with Kleenex®, Vick is confident he will return to full form, both in the NFL and with his endorsements. “I will get everything back and more”, Vick said as he wiped away a tear with a tissue from Kleenex®, “I have worked hard for this and I’m in talks with some companies such as Vaseline® and KY® to represent their product on and off the field the way I did in prison. Kleenex®: It Feels Good to Feel™.”

WELL, I GUESS I WON’T BE SPENDING ANY MORE OF MY MONEY ON KLEENEX OR AS MANY OTHER KIMBERLY-CLARK PRODUCTS AS I POSSIBLY CAN. WHAT THE HELL ARE THOSE MEN THINKING? NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER How much room do I have left? NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER
i love this excellent use of endorsing.
michael vick is the man.
100 million dollars to keep a box of tissues next to you during interviews.
who could say no to that?
good luck this year with the eagles mike vick, lets go to the superbowl philly.
stay with the eagles vick youve always been my favorite player and philly has always been my favorite team.
I think that was great for Kleenex to give Vick a second chance, even though some people want forgive him. People need to get over it because everyone make mistakes, and need forgiveness. I bet those people that’s haten on Mike has some awful skeletons in there closet .So they need to shut there F******* mouth. This is Amererica and we have laws, and the man has already done his time.
Glad he is getting his life back…He paid WAY more than he should have…My question is isn’t being an endorser for products such as K Y & Vaseline kinda f*cked up being that he just got outta prison?
“we’re confident he will inspire others to purchase Kleenex® and put them to the same effective uses that he has, focusing first and foremost on wiping away those unwanted tears of remorse to get a second chance. Kleenex®: It Feels Good to Feel”–I can feel real good about taking my money elsewhere. Kleenex, Kimberly-Clark products have been in my home forever. No more! Everyone makes mistakes? You can call what he did making a mistake? You can call his actions a skeleton in the closet? He hasn’t done his time, he’s still breathing.
“we’re confident he will inspire others to purchase Kleenex® and put them to the same effective uses that he has, focusing first and foremost on wiping away those unwanted tears of remorse to get a second chance. Kleenex®: It Feels Good to Feel” I have often thought the Kleenex was a terrifically over-priced product. Now, I have a real reason to take my hard earned dollars elsewhere. I can do with any Kimberly-Clark products, to believe Michael Vick feels any remorse is to be a fool. “Paid way more than he should have?” Not even close. “Done his time?” If you believe that, you don’t know all he did.
michael v – don’t get caught or admit to breeding without a license you’ll definitely get 20 to LIFE – IN – A – FEDERAL PRISON
CALI SMART
p.s.
i’ll represent you
oh i’ll bring you SCOTT TISSUE’S STUPID
Janet your an idiot and Konstanza likewise.
Hahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahaha thats the funniest sh!t i’ve read
Everyone makes mistakes, there is no perfect person, everyone deserves a second chance so get over it already!
Vick did not pay anywhere NEAR what he should have. The CEO of Kimberly Clark Buthman obviously is an idiot to think that having a convicted criminal represent their products is going to sell more, especially when the conviction involved extreme animal cruelty. You have effectively shadowed the entire company with a big black smear by making Vick “The new face of the company”. Hope your stock goes in the toilet. Bet you will have a “heartfelt moment” then! Maybe someone will wake up and fire CEO Buthman, can Vick and try to save the jobs of the poor employees who work for this company with and idiot CEO. Oh, think a big company can’t fall? Remember it’s the consumers that can make or break you!
Hey everybody, buy products from Proctor & Gamble, Puffs work waaay better than Kleenex. And the company does not use convicted criminals to sell their products! Oh, one more thing, give Vick plenty of K-Y, he will need it in HELL.
[...] but I”m still mad about that mess he said. Don’t forget about the endorsement deals Here and Here. I can’t understand why some people in Philly have a problem with this, [...]
i will not be buying any more of your product since you signed on michael vick.
