Bob Dylan-Stuck in the Middle With You.mp3 Reaches One Billion Downloads
Pioneer Hall, UC-Larely, Larely, CA – In an event which places it in the mp3 pantheon with heavy hitters like “The Who-Teenage Wasteland.mp3 and Phish-Gin-n-Juice.mp3, Bob Dylan-Stuck in the Middle With You.mp3 reached one billion downloads earlier today.
The feat was accomplished by Chris Sweeney, a freshman at UC-Larely, who, during an afternoon of searching around on Soulseek, finally downloaded the song. “I tried to find which one of Dylan’s albums it was from so that I could download the whole album, but for the life me, I could not find it. He must have just released it as a single or something. Thankfully, someone else online had just the single song and I was able to download it.”
The song was a great find for Sweeney, as he admits that it’s been on his “to download” list for a while now. “I’ve been meaning to grab it for a while now as it’s the missing piece to my ultimate mix cd of:

Sweeney also went on to say, “I’m pretty excited to get the disc done so that I can come up with some artwork for it and give it to this girl that I’m interested in. She’s way into music, and I’m pretty sure when she sees how into music I am, she’ll let me take her out on a proper date, and maybe even let me fingerblast her. I can’t wait!”
Though he is still unaware of it, being the billionth download also benefitted Sweeney legally, as the RIAA decided not to pursue a lawsuit against him due to the historical nature of the download. According to RIAA Chairman Mitch Bainwol, “We didn’t want the negative press that would come from pursuing a case like this one. Plus, all of our legal team is currently busy filing lawsuits against children, single parents, and churches.”
