Phoenix, AZ – Nate Robinson left the crowd in shock and awe when he took the slam dunk championship title away from Dwight Howard this past February 14th at the U.S. Airways Center.

The 5’ 9” New York Knicks star won the competition against the 6’ 11” Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic by leaping from the top of the circle and clearing Howard for the dunk. However, slow motion replays also revealed something else going on.

The replays showed that not only did Robinson’s hand touch Howard’s shoulder, but another body part of the “man in green” grazed right down the middle of Dwight Howards head. That’s right, the new style dunker pulled an old school trick that guys everywhere know all too well, the Teabag.

Teabagging is an ancient form of hazing and ridicule in which the “Teabagger” achieves contact between his testicles and the “Teabaggee’s” head or face for a brief moment of time. It is very popular in the video game world and college house party scene and was first used by the ancient Greeks as a way to prove their masculinity to Zeus. Somewhere along the line, the act was given the name “teabagging” because the motion of a man repeatedly touching someone with his testicles is quite similar to the motion dipping a teabag into a cup of hot water.

After throwing himself an astonishing alley-oop on his previous slam, Robinson talked Howard into helping him with his last dunk. Little did Dwight know that he was about feel the testicles and the shame of a classic gag that will undoubtedly be immortalized in slam dunk history.

Howard later recalled to the press that he was less in awe of the amazing dunk and more embarrassed. “I was never an avid Teabagger when I was younger so I didn’t see it coming. Never in my life have I gotten pranked this bad… everyone in the world saw me get it.”

Howard’s mistake most likely came as a result of skipping college to go straight to the NBA. A seasoned prankster would know that if one’s head is ever near the crotch of another young male, a Teabag will almost always be looming.

Robinson, who went to the University of Washington, is obviously well versed in the art of pranks and friendly humiliation and many sportswriters believe it was that experience that allowed him to cash in at Howard’s expense.
