East Rutherford, NJ – DeAngelo Williams was named MVP of your Fantasy Football Championship and nearly single handedly carried you to the title after he racked up 108 rushing yards and four touchdowns against the New York Giants in week sixteen of the NFL season.

Though the Carolina Panthers went on to lose the game in overtime, Williams, who scored on runs of 13, 5, 1, and 30 yards, was absolutely sensational.  In fact, he more than made up for the fact that your receivers, Andre Johnson and Roddy White were virtual no-shows, combining for only 43 yards and no touchdowns.

Being the gentlemen competitor you are, you also made sure to call your buddy you were matched up against and rub it in his face.  After all, he drafted Williams, but dropped him after week four so that he could pick up a kicker to replace Stephen Gostowski, who was on a bye that week.

Williams’ superb performance also spared you the agony of watching Monday Night’s game between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears, as you no longer needed to see if Mason Crosby and the Packer kicking game would kick enough field goals and PAT’s to sink your championship hopes.

When reached for comment about the award, Williams said, “First and foremost, I’d like to thank god.  Without him, none of us would be here.  As for my on-field performance, I always knew that I had it in me.  Plus, I had a lot to prove.  After a few slow weeks early in the season, I was near the top of Yahoo’s “Buzz Index” for dropped players.  That really stung and served as motivation on my way to scoring 11 TD’s during the last four weeks of the fantasy season.  Hopefully, people will realize next year that even if I have an off-game or two, they shouldn’t drop me, because I always come roaring back.”

As for the $140 you won for winning your fantasy football league, that’s now gone after you spent $100 on a Barry Sanders Fathead and $40 at the bar.
